Meaning All Works of Life, is AWOL. Take note of the second word’s spelling, Works; it’s not the same as the widely used cliché, all walks of life. This suggests that there are no preconceived notions about how we should pursue our aims and objectives. As our name suggests, we are a group of likeminded Sierra Leone/Australians from various professions, including entrepreneurs, attorneys, journalists, bankers, lecturers, teachers, Tradesmen and many more. Who have as their goal making genuine contributions to the process of nation building.

Building Brighter, Stronger Sierra Leone
Background
A small group of friends formed AWOL in 2001 with the intention of interacting and strengthening their friendship. But later that year, the concept of the National Achievement Awards was born with the election of the Late Mr. Moseray Fadika as Chairman. For AWOL, it was therefore a new era of ideology. Following that, AWOL was registered as a community-based organization, and on July 27, 2002, Dr. Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, the former president of the Republic of Sierra Leone, gave the organization its formal launch at the British Council Hall. AWOL hosted its inaugural National Achievement Awards at the Family Kingdom in that same year.
Inception
Entering its numerous subsidiary companies in 2013, AWOL Australia Inc. has been pursuing its objectives of building community development routes in Australia and Sierra Leone with the intention of satisfying the needs of a diverse range of abilities. AWOL Australia is presently engaged in projects aimed at raising awareness among Australian-Sierra Leoneans of the significance of social and economic development in Sierra Leone, specifically focusing on the underprivileged and vulnerable segments of society while concurrently fortifying and uniting the Sierra Leonean community and identity.
